The Blue Cash® from American Express card is a must-have. AmEx remains the best card for international travelers, so if you ever plan to travel internationally you need to have one of these. It is also the only major credit card accepted at a select few merchants (Costco is one important example). The Blue cards also dispense with the needless requirement on the regular American Express card that you pay your full balance off every month.
The Blue Cash card gives back a full 1% cash
back on all purchases, plus a higher percentage on certain categories as
well. AmEx
pays you your cash back reward once a year on your anniversary through a
statement credit. This is convenient,
but lacks the excitement of getting those checks in the mail.
AmEx is accepted almost everywhere Visa and MasterCard
are but there still are some holdouts, so it
can’t be your only credit card.
Still, you should have an AmEx Blue in your
wallet for the times when only AmEx is
